ABOUT ME
ABOUT Holland Pauselius
I'm Holly and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in the Bay Area. I have lived in the Bay Area my whole life and have experienced the diversity of cultures, religions and faiths, and races that comes from growing up here. I have had the desire and motivation to work in mental health as a counselor since I was in fifth grade and have not allowed the multitude of struggles that have come up to stop me from that goal.
My Approach
My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Together, you and I will focus on increasing self‑awareness, building concrete coping skills, and creating meaningful changes in your daily life—not just insight that stays in session. I draw from evidence‑based modalities including TEAM‑CBT, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also a Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider (C‑PD) and TEAM-CBT Level 1 Certified.
Whether you're meeting me virtually or in-person in Mountain View, the goal is to offer a grounded, non‑judgmental space where you can be honest, feel understood, and experiment with new ways of responding to your thoughts, feelings, and relationships.
EXPERIENCE
Over the past several years I have worked in private practice virtually and in-person in Mountain View and Los Gatos. In the past nine years, I have worked in community mental health, school-based programs, and higher‑acuity mental health settings. I have supported adolescents, young adults, and adults manage and regulate the thoughts and emotions that impact their day-to-day life, the uncertainty that occurs during life transitions, and relationship stress.

About My Practice
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re worried it means something is “wrong” with you. When I was first going to counseling, these were feelings and thoughts I was experiencing. Many people feel nervous, ashamed, or unsure about asking for help. By utilizing effective treatment with identifiable results, I offer a safe, respectful space where you can feel understood, supported, and confident as you make meaningful changes.
I use TEAM‑CBT, an evidence‑based approach designed to help you get better faster. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way, build practical skills for mood and emotion regulation, and strengthen self‑confidence. You’ll leave sessions with tools you can use right away in your daily life, and many clients notice real improvement within just a few sessions. Therapy works best when we collaborate. If you’re willing to lean into discomfort and try new strategies, I’ll match your effort with clear guidance, compassion, and structured support. Between sessions, I’ll offer simple, personalized homework so you can practice skills and see measurable progress.
While I have a special place in my heart for working with bipolar disorders and personality disorders, I also regularly work with dissociation, trauma, ADHD, anxiety (panic, fears, phobias, and persistent worries), depression, and life transitions. If your experience includes one, or several, of these, we’ll tailor treatment to your specific needs and values.
In our first meetings, we will understand your unique situation, explore your self-identity, and determine what’s occurring in your life. We will then define your goals, identify barriers to change, and test which tools work best for you. As therapy progresses, you will develop a set of skills for daily life, increase emotional stability, and feel more capable navigating challenges.
Sessions with me are 50 minutes and typically weekly. I utilize routine outcome measurements to see your progress clearly and help you decide when you’re ready to graduate. Successful therapy will result in increased mood regulation, development of tools and skills for daily life, and overall improvement in well-being.
If you’re ready to start, or simply curious, reach out. I’d be honored to help you move from overwhelmed to empowered, with practical steps that fit your life.
